Ex-world champion at FC Schalke 04 and Hertha BSC traded

With Djibril Sidibé, an ex-world champion from France will probably be launched in the summer of 2022 at a zero tariff. No wonder that there is no lack of interested parties. However, the potential customers from German football surprise.

Bundesliga club Hertha BSC and second division FC Schalke 04 have thrown an eye on Djibril Sidibé from AS Monaco. The “Footmercato.net” portal wants to have experienced this exclusively.

Accordingly, Sidibé could strive to change the scenery in order to put the focus on the World Cup in Qatar in the winter of 2022.

In Monaco, the 29-year-old has recently been surprisingly offside. Since the turn of the year, Sidibé was just 239 minutes on the lawn in Ligue 1, eight times the full-back, who won the World Cup with France in 2018, was not in the squad. Overall, the 18-time international played 25 competitive games for Monaco in the current season.

Spicy: In January, reports that Sidibé actually wanted to leave Monaco in winter, but now strives to extend his expiring contract in the principality. In the meantime, the paper may have turned again.

FC Schalke 04 and Hertha BSC financially not exactly on roses

However, it is questionable whether FC Schalke 04 could at all manage the salary of a former world champion. In Gelsenkirchen, only the Salif Sané and Ralf Fährmann, which is equipped with old contracts, are currently to earn around three million euros. Otherwise, as a result of the relegation in the 2021/22 season, economy is announced.

In order to have a chance of Sidibé at all, S04 would probably have to make the Bundesliga return perfect anyway. However, the chances are good.

With Hertha BSC, too, it does not look really rosy financially, but Sidibé should not blow up the Berlin salary structure. The prerequisite for the deal should be that the old lady holds the class.
